2016 Lucerna Symposium

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Honors College invites you to attend the annual Lucerna Symposium on February 2, 2016 in Student Union 401AB from 6:00-8:00p.m. Join us at 6:00p.m. for welcoming remarks by Chancellor Leo Morton. The 2016 symposium will feature presentations by student authors published in volume ten of the undergraduate research journal, as well as heavy hors d’oeuvres served by Sodexo.

Lucerna is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal, and UMKC’s only undergraduate research journal, publishing articles by students in the social sciences, sciences and humanities. Published annually since 2005, Lucerna‘s purpose is to cultivate and showcase high-caliber scholarship from the entire UMKC undergraduate community.

We hope you can join us to celebrate the remarkable discoveries of these student researchers. Publication of research is one of the highest achievements to which any student can aspire, and having one’s work published in Lucerna is a notable achievement for any undergraduate. Not only does this publication endorse one’s findings, but often it marks the inception of a promising and successful professional career.

Volume ten contains research papers by undergraduates Jonathan Brown, Chase Crosby, Haley Crane, Maria Gentry, Eliana Hudson, Autumn Neal, Jonathan Reavis, Caleb Stockham, and Layney Viets.
Please RSVP by email to honors@umkc.edu by January 26 if you plan to attend.
Sincerely yours,

Jim McKusick, Dean
Gayle Levy, Director
