Ethnographic Assessment and Field Research: Techniques and Applications

The course will provide a broad overview of both quantitative and qualitative anthropological and social research methods. Foundation theoretical orientations leading to their development will also be discussed. A primary focus of the course will then address a more detailed immersion in “Rapid Ethnographic Assessment” for which there has been significant interest and demand over the past decade. The course will be taught by expert faculty, Dr’s Jack Schultz, Ed Knop, Peter Van Arsdale who originated an effective model for Rapid Ethnographic Assessment and will include lecture, field exercises, interactive class discussions, relevant video material and extensive supplemental reading materials.
Cost: $2,995 if 13 or less are registered, $2750 if 14 or more are registered*
*Program Fee covers room, board and in-country transportation for one month of field activities. Does not include airfare, personal incidentals, or optional excursions to nearby attractions during free time.
