UMKC to host 3rd Annual Health Sciences Wellness Fair at Hospital Hill campus this weekend

Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy join forces with area partners to promote community health

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Health Sciences schools, in partnership with the Kansas City Wellness Network and Cover the Uninsured Coalition, will host the third annual Health Sciences Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 9, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Wellness Fair is free and open to the public and will be held at the UMKC Health Sciences Building on the Hospital Hill campus, 2464 Charlotte, Kansas City, MO.

Students, faculty and staff from the UMKC Health Sciences Schools, along with volunteers from UMKC’s community partners, will offer a variety of services, including free exams, screenings and education on vital health issues and topics. This year’s Wellness Fair will feature appearances by Kansas City Chiefs players, KC Wolf and the Chiefs Cheerleaders.

Among the available services being provided at this year’s Wellness Fair:

  • Immunizations
  • Sexual Health
  • Memory and Mood Health Screening**
  • Nutritional Health**
  • Weight Management Screening
  • Bone Health
  • Women’s Health
  • Lung Health**
  • Organ Donor Awareness**
  • Hearing Screening
  • Vision Screening
  • Heartburn Awareness**
  • Adult and Child Dental Screening with Dental Care Instruction
  • Medication Safety**
  • Sports Physicals for those under 18 years
  • Heart and Kidney Health*

*Eating may affect this test, so fasting is preferred
