Since 2006, the percentage of graduates from the UMKC School of Nursing pre-licensure nursing program passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on first attempt has been higher than the national and Missouri averages. The graduates in 2011 were no exception with a pass rate of 90.32%. [See chart below.] The national average was 87.9% and the Missouri average was 90.2%. The NCLEX is a computerized, comprehensive exam that “measures competencies needed to perform safely and effectively as a newly licensed, entry level nurse.” [Read more →]
