University of Missouri-Kansas City undergraduate students are presenting their research Friday on campus at SEARCH Symposium.
SEARCH — Students Engaged in Artistic and Academic Research — is the largest undergraduate research event at UMKC, providing one-on-one faculty interaction for students as well as a hands-on experience in the field of their choice.
“SEARCH is a wonderful opportunity for students to think creatively and develop problem-solving skills,” said UMKC Provost Gail Hackett. “Applying research methods also helps students explore potential careers.”
Students will be presenting research in five divisions:
- Architecture, Urban Planning and Design
- Behavioral and Social Sciences
- Biological and Health Sciences
- Humanities and Performing Arts
- Physical Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics
Students will be at their research posters between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday at Pierson Auditorium. Judging takes place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Winners in each division will receive a cash award in a ceremony at 4 p.m.
