Chosen for outstanding academic and service involvement

The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management has selected graduating senior Robin Carroll-Dolci as a 2009 Honor Award recipient. Carroll-Dolci was commended for both scholarship and participation in programs outside the classroom.
With a degree from UMKC’s School of Computing and Engineering, Carroll-Dolci will continue his education and research. Because of some volunteer time he devoted to area schools, he would like to continue tutoring and teaching.
“I plan on joining the Peace Corps, taking a couple of years helping a village in need, most likely teaching high school math,” said Carroll-Dolci. “I hope to work with ‘Engineers Without Borders’ and, with my Professional Engineering licensure, earn enough to start a scholarship for inspired electrical engineers at UMKC.”
While at UMKC, Carroll-Dolci joined the campus chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, serving as an officer and as part of the robotics team. He was president of Eta Kappa Nu, a campus honorary organization. Off campus, he gave time to Powerhouse Theater as fundraiser, actor and carpenter.
The Student Affairs Honors program was established in 1975 to recognize seniors who excelled in academic achievement, involvement in university programs and service to the campus and surrounding community.
