The faculty/staff appreciation lunch on the Quad was part of Greek Week, which runs through Oct. 17. The catered lunch, provided by Taco Republic, was organized by CPC to show appreciation to faculty and staff.
“I think it’s great,” said Camille Johnson-Arnold, UMKC School of Computing and Engineering staff member. “It’s very nice to be appreciated by the students.”
Joan McDowd, professor in the UMKC Psychology Department; and Jenny Lundgren, professor and chair of the UMKC Psychology Department; enjoyed the sunshine and conversation.
“It’s a great opportunity to get out. I appreciate the gesture to our faculty,” McDowd said.
Lundgren echoed McDowd’s sentiment. “We really care about our students. We appreciate their thoughtfulness with this lunch.”
For Jacob Marszalek, UMKC School of Education associate professor; and Lance Owen, who teaches geosciences, getting outside was also welcome.
“This is great,” Marszalek said. “And it’s nice to get out of the office.”
Owen, who already likes Taco Republic, was looking forward to lunch, even if the line was long.
