TANNER PRENDERGAST
Chemistry major; pre-med | College of Arts and Sciences | 2018
Where is UMKC taking you?
I’m a freshman from Liberty, Missouri. I’m living in an apartment, so being at UMKC is teaching me to be self-sufficient and to manage my time on my own.
Why did you choose UMKC?
There were financial reasons: Financial aid is easy to get, which will allow me to accumulate less college debt. I work at H&M, which helps with the expenses. Also, I love Kansas City and everything about being in the city.
What led you to UMKC?
I’m a premed student majoring in chemistry. I knew UMKC had a medical school and a premed track.
What are your lifelong goals?
I want to be a radiologist. At first I wanted to be an anesthesiologist, but my dad pointed out that radiologists are rarely on call, can work from home sometimes and have a healthy family/work balance.
What motto do you live by?
Take things as they come. I’m pretty laid back.
What excites you?
Longboarding. I also have a new PS3 I’m pretty excited about.
