KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Metropolitan Community College (MCC) and the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) have signed a dual admission agreement that allows students to seamlessly transition from MCC to UMKC.

Through the dual admission agreement, MCC students can complete an online form that indicates their plans to transfer to UMKC. Each semester, UMKC academic advisors will review MCC student transcripts to evaluate how credits may transfer. The agreement also allows students to transfer UMKC credits to MCC.

“This agreement is a great partnership between the two largest educational institutions in Kansas City,” said MCC Chancellor Jackie Snyder. “We’re pleased to give our students this opportunity to more easily continue their education.”

Dual admission students can utilize several UMKC programs and services, such as those offered by UMKC Career Services and Multicultural Student Affairs. In addition, they can participate in intramural sports at UMKC’s Swinney Recreation Center.

“As Kansas City’s university, we strive to make higher education accessible to all students and are pleased to be able to partner with Metropolitan Community College on this dual admission program,” said Mel Tyler, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “This agreement will help MCC students as they transfer to earn their bachelor’s degrees.”
