KCUR: Examining Kansas City Transit

The story of one bus commuter details the problem

Listen to the story here.

A report by KCUR’s Laura Ziegler provided insight on the struggles many low-income urban residents face in just finding their way to work on a daily basis.

The story traces one single mother’s four-hour daily commute to cover a distance a car could traverse in 20 minutes. It also describes a 2011 Brookings Institution report that that ranked Kansas City among the 10 worst metros its size in the country for mass transit.

KCUR-FM is a service of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
