Julie Collins to Speak at Education Summit

Julie Collins, executive director of the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Kansas City Regional Professional Development Center, will speak at the 4th Annual Education Summit.

Collins will speak about educating at-risk students, access to education and the cost of higher education.

The summit will take place 8 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Sept. 19, at the University of Central Missouri’s Summit Center, 850 NW Chipman Road, Door 54, Lee’s Summit.

The event is free and open to the public.

“Educators, stakeholders, parents and students will convene an Education Summit to continue the tremendous efforts that started with the citizen-led strategic plan Lee’s Summit 360°: Charting Tomorrow,” said Mike Allen, chairman of the Education Key Performance Area of Lee’s Summit 360.
