Studying in Madrid!

Hello everyone! I’m Johnathan and have been studying Spanish language and culture since January here in Madrid, Spain– Spain’s capital and largest city. Madrid is located in the center of the country, and it is also home to Spain’s largest international airport, Barajas. Because of this, Madrid is the perfect place to study if you plan to visit other cities throughout Spain or even other countries throughout Europe.

The Spanish people are very warm and welcoming which has made perfecting my Spanish very easy. Between talking with my professors, host family, and friends, I have found it very easy to practice speaking with multiple people on a daily basis. My classes at the university have also been very helpful. We complete daily vocabulary exercises, have debates, and conduct research projects.

During my stay here in Madrid I have had the opportunity to explore and travel to other places. I have been to many cities in Andalusia such as Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, and Almería. I have also been to Valencia, Soria, and I went to the United Kingdom in March to Cardiff to visit the southern coast of Wales.
