Student Employment Resources

The start of the Fall semester is approaching! With that comes new and returning students to campus searching for on/off campus jobs. There are many resources for students who are seeking out career guidance and opportunities on campus. Below are some of the resources UMKC has to offer:

Career Services: UMKC Career Services, located in Atterbury Student Success Center on the second floor, is your go to place for student employment. Career Services main mission is to empower students and alumni to successfully develop the skills needed in a constantly changing work environment. Career Services offers many resources like career fairs, career counseling and student employment opportunities through Handshake.

Handshake: Not only does Handshake offer a platform for students to request career counseling appointments, it also allows you to search for jobs on or off campus. UMKC Bookstore
and Swinney Recreation Center: both offer employment opportunities for students. Click here for more information on Swinney positions, and click here for UMKC Bookstore posted positions. Please note that Swinney has specific guidelines on their hiring process.

Work Study information: The Financial Aid and Scholarships page on Work Study information is another great resource for students. Students can find links to resources regarding work study job search tips and how to apply for work study.
