Benefit Process Change
Beginning Monday, February 1, 2021, there will be a new process in place for employees to make Benefit Changes to their insurance plans.
If you experience a change in family or employment status during the year, you may be eligible to make changes to your benefit elections. Instead of submitting a paper form, you will now submit these Life Events directly online. You will login to myHR and go to the myBenefits Icon, then select “Life Events” from the left hand menu. The page will walk you through the steps and completing the action, and you will also be able to upload any required documentation.
Benefit Tax forms
As tax season is beginning, we wanted to remind employees about related tax forms that they may need.
The 1095-c should be available around March 1st. These are the forms that you receive from the employer that verify that you, and your dependents, were eligible for health insurance coverage as well as confirms enrollment. If you submitted your consent to receive them electronically to print through myHR, you will receive an email notifying you when they are ready. If you did not consent to receive electronically, they will be mailed to the home address on file. You are able to file your taxes without this form.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
For those that have been enrolled in the Health Savings account, you recently received an email from Optum Bank notifying you that your tax forms are ready. The forms are the 1099-SA, which shows your distribution from the HSA for that tax year, and the 5498-SA, which shows the contributions made to your account and the fair market value of your account for that tax year. You can access these forms by:
- Sign in at myuhc.com
- Scroll down and click on the dollar sign ($) icon to access your account.
- Click “Manage your Optum Bank HSA.”
- Select “Statements and Docs” from the “I want to…” section.
