2021 Green Commute Challenge

Sign up for the Green Commute Challenge!

How would you like to get healthier, save money, help the environment and win prizes? UMKC will participate in the Green Commute Challenge from Sept. 20 through Oct. 31, 2021. The Green Commute Challenge is a 6-week employer-based contest where employees can earn points and win prizes just for using alternative forms of transportation for work trips!

The ultimate goal of Green Commute Challenge is to encourage employees to use alternative modes of transportation to improve Kansas City’s air quality and decrease pollutants.

Those who log miles will receive points – and become eligible for prizes provided by generous local businesses, including Charlie Hustle, Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch, Waldo Pizza, and more! You can earn points by carpooling, riding the bus, walking, telecommuting, riding your bicycle and using the streetcar.

To participate, first sign up for an account on RideShareKC.org, click on “Login/Register” in the top right corner. To join the UMKC team click on “Challenge Dashboard” under the “Green Commute Challenge” tab. Search for UMKC and click the ‘JOIN’ button to the left of the team’s name. You’re in! Log your Green Commute trips starting September 20th.
