Contracts

Contracting for UMKC Residential Life begins in December and is open until spaces are filled. We encourage you to fill out your contract early to have the best chance at getting your preferences (preferences are not guaranteed and do not relieve the student from the contract if alternate accommodations are assigned). Please note that to submit a contract, official admission to the university is required.

Contracts are for the entire academic year, or for the part of the academic year remaining after the effective start date of the contract. There are contracts available for the Spring Semester only and for the summer. Contracts for apartment spaces include the Fall, Winter and Spring Break periods. The residence halls are closed during these times, and other accommodations must be found during break periods.

Instructions for Contracting (Applies to Fall 2020 residents only – MyHousing Self-Service is being retired and RooRez will be the new student housing portal)

    • Open MyHousing Student Web Portal
    • Sign in with your UMKC SSO and password
    • Select “Forms”
    • Select the appropriate contract from the drop down menu
    • Review and sign the terms and conditions
    • Complete your personal information and housing preferences
    • Select a meal plan, if applicable, then submit the completed contract

Instructions for Contracting (Applies to Spring 2021-Only Housing Contracts)

  • Open RooRez Student Web Portal
  • Select “Student Login”
  • Sign in with your UMKC SSO and password
  • Select “Spring 2021-Only Housing Contract”
  • Click the “Start Contract” button
  • Enter all requested information and proceed through the contract page prompts
  • Once you reach the Contract Summary landing page, you’ve successfully completed your housing contract

Check Your Housing Assignment

For your convenience, you can log into RooRez and check your housing assignment (once an assignment has been made). For academic year contracts, room assignments should be available mid-summer; spring-only contract room assignments, by late December; and summer contract room assignments, by early May.

Instructions for checking your assignment

  • Open RooRez Student Web Portal
  • Select “Student Login”
  • Sign in with your UMKC SSO and password
  • From here you will find your current housing assignment along with roommate information (if an assignment has been made) on the Home page

Summer Contracts

The Summer 2021 Contract will become available on Monday, February 1st at 12:00PM. The priority submission date for the Summer 2021 Contract is Monday, March 1st by 11:59PM. Only contracts received by this date will be guaranteed housing for the summer term. Contracts received after this date will be assigned spaces at the discretion of Residential Life. Keep in mind that room preference on contract is not a guarantee and does not relieve the student from the contract if alternate accommodations are assigned.
