Scott Laurent, Director of Student Disability Services
I have directed the office since 1998. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, bird watching and fly fishing. I have one son and two bonus daughters.
I focus on: new student intakes, coordinating accommodations with faculty and students, and providing training on disability issues to the campus community.
I started with UMKC in 1997. For the last 10 years I’ve worked in Student Disability Services. I have two children, (one with disabilities). I love amusing t-shirts, the various art works of Randal Spangler and I’m a voracious reader.
I focus on: coordinating accommodated testing, arranging letters of accommodation and maintaining student files.
I’ve been affiliated with UMKC, in one way or another, for 20 years: first, as a student, and then, for the past 11 years, with Student Disability Services. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, travel, cooking, and music. I have a son and four grandchildren who live in the St Louis area, and I enjoy visiting them as often as possible.
I focus on: proctoring exams and coordinating the alternate text program at UMKC.
I focus on: proctoring exams and providing office support.
