We know this can be an overwhelming process for future students so we have provided many resources here so you can learn more about admission requirements, the application process, life on campus and life in Kansas City. When you are ready to become a UMKC Roo, follow steps 1–7 to complete the application process.

Future student checklist – What do you need to do to apply to UMKC?

Step 1: Decide what you want to study by reviewing the list of graduate and undergraduate degree programs and course catalog

Step 2: Review admission requirements for your desired degree program

Step 3: Schedule and take any exams required for admission (GRE, TOEFL, IELTS)

Step 4: Submit an application

Step 5: Request official transcripts and test scores and have them sent to UMKC’s International Student Affairs Office

Step 6: Receive a decision regarding your admission to UMKC

Step 7: If admitted, review instructions for admitted students

For the University of Missouri – Kansas City Campus Crime and Fire Safety Report, go to the UMKC Police Department web page. The report contains information on campus security and personal safety, including crime prevention, university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures, and other important matters about safety on campus. It also contains statistics for the three previous calendar years regarding reported crimes that occurred on campus, in off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
