The Chancellor’s Diversity Council will hold a rollout event on Wednesday, April 9 for the UMKC campus to share some of its accomplishments and immediate goals, as well as strategic objectives.
The event will be held from 3- 5 p.m. in the Student Union, room 401.
Having met for the past two years, the Council has developed an action plan that will achieve the vision of a diverse and inclusive university environment. The rollout will identify items that will be implemented in the near future, a list of immediate goals and the long-term strategic objectives.
UMKC has outlined its effort to improve diversity by working across Five Dimensions for diversity. Each dimension includes primary expected outcomes that will provide vision and direction to campus activities and strategies in the future. The dimensions are:
- Dimension 1: Representation, Access & Success
- Dimension 2: Climate & Campus Environment
- Dimension 3: Responsive Teaching, Research & Experiential Learning
- Dimension 4: UMKC & the Urban Community in Partnership
- Dimension 5: Institutional Infrastructure & Resources
For additional information regarding each dimension, visit the Chancellor’s Diversity Council.
The primary responsibility for the diversity process will transfer to the UMKC Office of Diversity and Inclusion and will be led by the new Vice Chancellor.
