Residential Permit Parking in the Rockhill Crest neighborhood surrounding UMKC’s Volker campus

May 25th, 2010 · No Comments · Announcement, Community Connections, Faculty, Staff

In March 2010, the Rockhill Crest Neighborhood Association asked neighborhood residents to sign a petition to authorize Residential Permit-only parking for the public streets in the neighborhood. The Association-intitiated Petition, which was submitted to the City of Kansas City Traffic Division, was approved in May.

Streets affected by the parking restrictions: 53rd, 54th, Holmes, Charlotte, Harrison, 54th Terr.  and 55th. This restriction should not affect UMKC property that is being used by a department or academic unit.

Initially the signs were not being posted until late July or early August. Most signs, however,  were posted on May 24, 2010.  The postings read:

No Parking

7 A.M. To 6 P.M.

Monday Thru Friday

Except with RC Area

Resident Permit

Only residents who live in Rockhill Crest Neighborhood can purchase a Resident Permit by submitting an application to the City. Applications can be found on the Kansas City Web site.
