UMKC Staff Council provides advocacy and outreach for staff employees, represents staff interests to UMKC and UM System and creates opportunities for staff recognition and professional development.
General Body Meetings
General Body Meetings take place the first Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise specified) from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. All UMKC staff are welcome to join us at meetings. Meetings are generally held in-person and via Zoom. All Staff Council voting members and Executive Committee members are required to attend General Body meetings.
Staff Council Voting Members
Staff Council voting members are chosen through a process of nomination and election (coordinated by the Staff Council Vice Chair of Membership). Voting membership is composed of 32-50 voting members, each serving 2-year terms and rotating one-half of the membership each year. Staff Council strives to be representative of the UMKC staff to the greatest extent possible.
Make a Difference with Committees
Staff Council committees are organized as long-term and ongoing. All elected Staff Council members serve on at least one Staff Council committee.
Join the Staff Council Community
Our committees are open to any interested staff member. You are welcome to join a committee, even if you are not regularly attending Staff Council.Staff Events Calendar
