Annual Richard D. McKinzie Symposium will run Feb. 27-28
The 19th Annual Richard D. McKinzie Symposium, entitled “One Nation Under God: The Politics of America’s Religious Diversity” will run Feb. 27-28 in the Truman Forum of the Kansas City Public Library’s Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St., Kansas City, Mo.
Charles Cohen will deliver the keynote address, “Jews and Muslims in Christian America,” at 6:30 p.m. A reception will begin at 6 p.m. Cohen will address the issues facing minority religions in America. Cohen is a professor of history and religious studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and director of the Lubar Institute for the Study of the Abrahamic Religions.
The symposium continues on Friday with workshops from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. that are open to the public but geared toward students and educators. Get the full schedule on the UMKC Department of History’s website.
