At the 16th Annual Symposium of Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholarship, UMKC English undergraduate Rachel Hoffman was awarded the Arts & Humanities Presentation of Distinction for her poster, “Getting Mouthy: The Displayed Authority of Dr. Katherine Berry Richardson.”

Additionally, Alex Peuser, a student in Nicole Higgins’ discourse class, took third place in the competition for the Social Justice Award, which recognizes excellent oral presentations from the discourse classes. Alex’s presentation was entitled “AIDS and the Artist’s Call to Action.”
