Eight ‘anti-LGBT’ bills filed in Missouri legislature

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri legislators are considering eight bills targeting the LGBT community.

Students filed a resolution against Senate Bill 248, which would allow student organizations with religious beliefs to discriminate against potential members.

Juan Bettancourt-Garcia, UMKC Student Body President, said, “We’re a state that has always wanted to bring more students in and with language like this and bills going around such as 248 it would discourage students from attending institutions in Missouri.” Read more.
