Gardens remind us of our enduring connection to life, to each other, and to Earth, which compels us to do everything in our power to protect and nurture life and all that is sacred without doing harm. Join us on our social media pages on Fridays this semester as members of our staff members cultivate their own Freedom Garden in their homes through a simple process of growing sustainable food using common household items.

February 5, 12, 19, & 26: This month check out the start of our Freedom Garden and learn about food insecurity and food deserts and the existence and persistence of community gardens in low-income neighborhoods as a testament to the resilience of the Black and Brown communities who cultivate them.

March is Women’s History Month. Check out our social media pages for trivia questions about Women’s History Month and this year’s national theme, “Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silenced.” This is an extension of last year’s theme to recognize and honor the important roles of multicultural suffragists and voting rights activists. We refuse to allow their voices to be silenced, even by a pandemic. Prizes will be awarded to trivia contest winners.
