Hey there! My name is Mariah Weber and I’m currently enrolled as a non-traditional first-year student double majoring in Anthropology and Environmental Studies! Between high school and university I had the remarkable privilege to live and work internationally for both environmental and women’s based initiatives. This experience ultimately honed my love for human/environment relationships and led to my area of study here at UMKC! In addition to my work with women abroad, I grew up in a home with a single mother with a career as a Women’s Empowerment and Life Coach who exposed me to the power and significance of women’s issues from an early age. Since then, my passion for supporting this cause has only grown and this internship felt like the perfect way to use my voice to give back to all of the women who have raised me to be where I am today. I am so humbled and inspired by the work being done by the Women’s Center on our campus and incredibly grateful to be a member of the team during this Spring Semester! I look forward to meeting more of this community at future events!
