Coming up on Wednesday, September 18, the Women’s Center is sponsoring a “Rise and Dream” Film Screening at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library. The reception begins at 6 p.m., and the screening starts at 6:30 p.m.

Join UMKC alumnus Barclay Martin for a screening of the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging (CFCA) documentary film “Rise and Dream,” featuring Martin’s music and the story of 13 teenagers living in the Philippines. The teens accept a challenge to learn their own cultural instruments to perform on the biggest stage of their lives. The screening will be preceded by live music and followed by a question and answer session.

This event is co-sponsored by CFCA and the Kansas City Public Library.
