Vanguards and Visionaries – Celebrating Women’s Center Leadership

You are invited to join the UMKC Women’s Center for the Vanguards and Visionaries reception, Thursday, March 1, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This reception will honor the past leadership of the UMKC Women’s Center.  Meet former Women’s Center directors, staff, and Advisory Board members while you admire the work of local female artists who, over the past four decades, have shaped the visual arts community of Kansas City.  The reception will also feature dance performances by Amanda McMaster and Amy Gardner-Wooddell, Conservatory of Music and Dance, as well as a music performance by folk rock artist Elaine McMilian.  Guest speaker for the occasion will be Senator Jolie Justus, Missouri District 10.  Other speakers will include Peter Witte, Dean of the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance; Sloane Simmons, Co-Chair of the Women’s Center’s 40th anniversary committee; and Arzie Umali, Assistant Director of the Women’s Center.
