Women’s Soccer cruises through Jewell

The UMKC Women’s soccer teamed cruised to another win on Sunday at home against William Jewell. Despite some rainy conditions earlier in the day, the game stayed on schedule. The match was largely a one-sided affair, ending in a score of 1-0.

From the opening kickoff, the Roos put immense pressure on their opponents with savvy dribbling and strong infield passing. The Cardinals seemingly had no answer for UMKC’s offensive style. The roos took the lead at the 20:25 mark off a free kick just outside the Cardinal box. The kick was placed into heavy traffic in front of the goal, where a Cardinals player accidentally put it into the back of the net.

For the remainder of the game, UMKC played conservatively, holding onto its lead with booming clears out of its own half and continued shots onto the Jewell net.

The Kangaroos are next in action on Saturday, April 28 at home against the Kansas State Wildcats.
