What a play-full time of year


There are hundreds of things to do in Kansas City during the holiday season, and this year the theatre community is booming. Productions of all genres, plots and characters abound. Don’t get lost in studying or baking or shopping—get out and see a show. This city has talent on every stage that must not go unseen.

• “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer: The Musical” runs through Jan. 4 at the Coterie Theatre, 2450 Grand Blvd.
• “Oliver” runs through Dec. 21 at Off Center Theatre, 2450 Grand Blvd.
• “Shear Madness” runs through Jan. 18 at The New Theatre Restaurant, 9229 Foster.
• “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” opens Dec. 3 and runs through Dec. 28 at the Unicorn Theatre, 3828 Main.
• “Pericles” opens Dec. 5 and runs through Dec. 14 at UMKC Theatre, 4949 Cherry.
• “Private Eyes” opens Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 7 at UMKC Theatre, 4949 Cherry.
