The UMKC Women’s Soccer team won their three game straight after they took down Iowa State 3-1, Friday night.
It didn’t take the Roos long to take the lead. In the eighth minute, Reighan Childers threaded a through ball to Lexie Howard who was unable to score, as Iowa State’s goalkeeper saved the shot.
Unfortunately for the goalkeeper the ball spilled to Rylan Childers who calmly finished for the Roos.
Iowa State found themselves tied with the Roos after a goal in the 32nd minute.
The Roos didn’t take long to retrieve the lead with a goal in the 34th minute. UMKC retained their 2-1 lead going into halftime.
The Roos defense played well in the second half and Iowa State didn’t get a chance to tie the game.
UMKC shut the door on Iowa State when they tacked on a goal in the 74th minute, Rylan Childers second goal of the game, which extended the lead 3-1.
In the 77th minute, Iowa State had a chance to score but they were not able to capitalize on the opportunity as the shot was blocked by the Roos’ sturdy wall.
