Do you want to prompt action regarding climate change in the government? UMKC will host its own climate change rally on Friday, March 15 at 3 p.m. in the University Playhouse.
The event sponsors include UMKC’s Student Environmental Coalition, Society of Physics Students, Fossil Free UMKC, Geology Club, Women in Science and Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists.
The rally will coincide with the Global Youth Climate Strike, with youth around the world holding their own strikes.
“Today’s youth will bear the consequences of [government climate change inaction],” said the rally’s coordinators. “Climate change is a challenging, yet currently surmountable problem that requires initiative. We are providing a platform for KC-area young people where we can bring a sense of urgency to the climate crisis.”
The coordinators encourage all students in the area to come and use their voice in this opportunity on campus for protest and change.
