Student groups recruit newcomers at involvement expo

Many friendly smiles welcomed students at the student involvement expo on Jan. 23 in the Student Union, hosted by the Office of Student Involvement.

Sixty-two student organizations, out of over 300, had booths at the expo, encouraging students to engage and connect more on campus.

Poster boards and banners lined the walls, guiding students through what seemed to be a never-ending line of booths to learn about different student organizations on campus.

The organizations ranged from academic, political, technical, business, art, religious, leadership, greek life, sports and more.

As conversation filled the air, students could walk around multiple times and get the chance to speak with a different organization member each time.

Many members from each booth were ready to share information and spark interest about their organizations. Rosters were on tables so that students could leave their email and receive more information or updates about organizations they were interested in.

Students who have an idea for an organization that does not already exist can create one by having the presence of 10 or more students and a faculty advisor.
