UMKC’s Student Government Association announced the results of last week’s election.
Next year’s executive board will see Abdul Baba Ahmed take over as SGA president, David Fulk as executive vice president, Kyle Liggins as administrative vice president, and Jaelon Brooks as comptroller/chair of the student activity fee committee.
Prior to the election, President Elect Ahmed said he wants to include more students in SGA’s decision-making process.
“I felt like there wasn’t enough student representation when decisions are being made,” says Baba-Ahmed. “I really want to bring a change to that.”
Fulk, Liggins and Brook all echoed this student-centered rhetoric in their campaigns.
Administrative Vice President Elect Liggins said he wants to bring ideas and concerns of students “from all different backgrounds” to the executive board’s attention next year.
Stayed tuned to get to know next year’s SGA leaders.
