Soccer PHOENIX, Ariz. – The UMKC women’s soccer team— the head coach and multiple players— received recognition by the Western Athletic Conference at the 2017 postseason banquet Tuesday evening.
The UMKC women’s soccer team (12-7-1, 7-0 WAC) fell to Seattle U (9-8-3, 3-2-2 WAC) by a score of 1-0 in the semifinal match of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament. The Roos were unable to advance to the championship round.
Volleyball CHICAGO, Ill. – The UMKC volleyball team (9-16, 5-7) picked up a win on Friday night in a match against Chicago State (10-20, 1-12) 3-0 at the Jacoby Dickens Center.
Alicia Harrington (Cedar Falls, Iowa) led the Roos offensive attack with 13 kills, hitting .367 with three digs and two aces, while Brook Jacobs (Peoria, Ill.) finished with 10 kills on a .381 hitting percentage.
Golf RINCEVILLE, KAUA’I, Hawaii. – The UMKC men’s golf team closed out its fall slate on Tuesday afternoon with a 13th place finish at 7-under over three rounds in the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational at the Makai Golf Club.
Taylor Larsen (Garden City, Kan.) paced UMKC in the tournament, finishing in a tie for 21st at 7-under after a third round 69 that included five birdies with three straight coming on Nov. 3-5.
Tennis KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC women’s tennis player Aliona Ladutska (Minsk, Belarus) was named WAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Month for her efforts during October.
Senior Ladutska, advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Central Region Championship. In the round of 64, she took down Tulsa’s Van Rensburg by a score of 6-1 and 6-1. She then went on to upset No. 11 seed Jurasic from Arkansas, 6-3 and 7-5. She then lost to Kansas’s Vogasari in the round of 16 with scores of 6-0, 3-6 and 6-3
