Roo Report – Investigative reporter for The Kansas City Star and Pulitzer Prize finalist Laura Bauer talks about her work as a journalist

In this episode, the Roo Report is joined by Laura Bauer. Laura has been with The Kansas City Star for 15 years as an investigative reporter. She specializes in long-term investigative projects, compelling storytelling, breaking news and, most of all, journalism that demands accountability.  She has covered stories such as misconduct by the State Highway Patrol and the harmful secrecy of the Kansas State government. In 2018, Laura Bauer was one of the finalists for the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service because of her investigation of the Kansas government. Through this episode, she discusses some of her favorite stories and gives advice to aspiring journalists.
