New parking rules

According to a press release, new and returning students might notice a surprising addition to the campus this fall.

Unlike state-of-the-art Student Union or the newly renovated campus library, this change will likely be met with groans, not cheers.

The Rockhill Crest Neighborhood Association passed a new parking regulation in March to authorize permit-only parking.

This means the public streets in the neighborhood are now restricted parking only for residents with a legal parking permit. Students attempting to park on these off-limit streets should think twice, unless they want to pay for a Kansas City parking violation.

Enforced streets include 53rd, 54th, Holmes, Charlotte, Harrison, 54th Terr. and 55th Street. There are plenty of red “no parking” signs to eliminate confusion as to where a permit is necessary.
