Multicultural Student Affairs kicks off the semester with welcome back week

The Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) office kicked the semester off with a bang.

For the annual “Welcome Back Week,” MSA put together a week of fun events for new and returning students.

The first event of the week was the “Warm up with Soup” event. Students socialized while enjoying soup from Panera Bread to keep warm from the winter woes.

Students embraced their inner Picasso while sipping on sparkling grape juice at the next event, “Paint and Sip.” The painting class was led by artist and Women’s Center Assistant Director Arzie Umali.

On Wednesday, students’ passports were stamped as they busted a move in a traditional salsa and afro-dance class in the Student Union.

Thursday, the “Roo Up Into the New Year” was a goal-setting event where students ate, made vision boards and set goals for 2019—a great way to get back on track for those who may have lost sight of their New Year’s’ resolutions or simply wanted to set new goals.

MSA wrapped up its welcome back week with an event on Friday, “Gaming in the Village”, where students gathered for battle royale, playing Fortnite, Madden and NBA 2k19.
