The men’s golf team won 2nd place at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Tuesday at the Primm Valley Golf Club in Primm, Nev. with a final score of 853 (-11).
Junior Korbin Keuhn’s final 54-hole score of 205 (-11) tied UMKC’s school record, while his personal best of 66 was only two strokes from the school record.
Kuehn was named Summit League Co-Golfer of the week for his second career win.
The Roos recovered from an average start, shooting rounds of 291, 284 and 278 respectively, finishing four shots behind Idaho, the Invitational’s winner.
The Roos beat Summit League representatives Oral Roberts and South Dakota State. The Roos’ final score of 853 ranked 3rd in UMKC history.
The Roos placed five players in the top 20. Kuehn won the tournament. Sophomores Cole Chelle and Jack Fiscus tied for 7th with 214 (-2). Junior Viktor Mikaelsson tied for 11th with an even-par 216, while sophomore Nathan Hughes tied for 18th at 218 (+2).
The Blue & Gold will compete at the UALR First Tee Intercollegiate on Mar. 26-27 in Little Rock, Ark.
