Andre McGee, the UMKC basketball coach at the center of the Louisville prostitution scandal, has resigned.
McGee had been on Administrative leave since Oct. 2.
In a letter to UMKC Director of Athletics Carla Wilson, McGee wrote that “the university deserves a full time assistant coach and I am not able to provide that to the basketball team while the false allegations against me are being investigated.”
The allegations come from Katina Powell, a self-described “madam” who alleges in her autobiographical book that McGee procured her services in order to recruit players while at Louisville.
In addition to UMKC, the NCAA and the Univeristy of Louisville are conducting investigations into the allegations.
