Max Pecina Graduating with plans for a new business venture

Max Pecina is graduating this December with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.

“I’m excited to graduate because I will be the first to graduate from college in my family and to see all my hard work finally pay off,” he said.

Pecina said he’s glad he’s graduating at semester, and plans on opening his own business.

“I did it because I didn’t want to wait another four months just to walk,” he said. “I wanted to get started working on opening the business and want to focus all my time on that.”

Pecina is a member of the Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, and he said he’ll miss the friends he’s made.

“I will miss UMKC because of all the different people that are at UMKC,” Pecina said. “I’ve made a lot good friends and joined an awesome fraternity and now part of a brotherhood for life.”

He said he’s glad he went to UMKC and he’s learned a lot in his time here.

“I developed a lot of tools will earning my degree that I can use in different situations that occur while I’m pursuing my goals in life,” Pecina said. “It opened a lot of doors by allowing me to meet a variety of people.”

Though a college degree can be expensive, Pecina said for him it was worth it.

“Yes, it was worth every bit,” Pecina said. “I’m happy I went to UMKC because I had the opportunity to join my fraternity and become part of a tight-knit brotherhood. I also am happy because I still got to go to a University and still be in the same city as my family.”
