Let’s Get Political: AG resigns, Acosta’s accosted, and duck boat captain charged

National:

Jeff Sessions, U.S. Attorney General, submitted his resignation Wednesday afternoon. President Trump appointed Matthew Whitaker as his replacement. As Attorney General, Whitaker is now in charge of the Mueller investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia.

CNN reporter Jim Acosta had his press pass to the White House revoked after an altercation between him and an intern during a press conference. The White House communications released a doctored video showing Acosta hitting the interns arm, although many who were in the room are saying that didn’t happen.

Local:

The captain of the Branson Duck Boat which sunk in June has been charged with criminal negligence Thursday. The accident took the lives of 17 people during a heavy rainstorm this summer.
