UMKC Conservatory
The UMKC Conservatory is an ideal blend of a fully-featured conservatory environment, located within a strong academic university. The conservatory has a full Symphony Orchestra as well as two Wind Symphonies and chamber music programming, allowing for bassoon students to train in the full spectrum of job opportunities.
The UMKC Ensembles regularly perform in Helzberg Hall at the the world-renowned Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
The Conservatory offers undergraduate and graduate Performance degrees, a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, as well as Music Education and Music Therapy degrees. Additionally, there are two post-graduate options:
- Performer’s Certificate – a one-year program offered after an undergraduate degree to further hone skills before graduate school
- Artist’s Certificate – a two-year performance program offered for students who have already attained a Master’s Degree
