Registration is open for the UMKC Social Justice Conference, EDUCATE-ORGANIZE-ADVOCATE, on Oct. 30. The conference will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the UMKC Student Union.
Sessions topics include When You’re the Only One in the Room, Don’t Say the R Word: A Discussion of How Race Changes Everything, 5 Ways to Take Action on Climate Change, Moving Beyond the Myths to Reduce the Stigma Surrounding Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Citizens.
The keynote speaker is Robin DiAngelo, author of the New York Times bestseller “White Fragility.” DiAngelo educates audiences about social and racial issues as an academic, diversity trainer and consultant.
