Parking Changes Coming in 2020

0

After an extensive study of the surface parking lots conducted last October, Parking and Transportation discovered a number of situations in parking areas assigned to faculty and staff where there were a large number of available spaces. In response to requests over the years, and the availability of parking in these areas, Parking and Transportation has made the following changes to several parking areas on campus:

  • Area 15: School of Education — Two rows of parking (46 spaces) have been converted to student permit parking
  • Area 4: Miller Nichols Library — Two rows of parking (41 spaces) have been converted to student permit parking
  • Area 43: Atterbury Student Success Center — 15 metered spaces have been converted to student permit parking
  • Area 9/41: Biological Sciences/Spencer Hall — Three official vehicle spaces have been moved to the faculty/staff portion of the lot, five metered spaces have been converted to student permit parking
  • Laboratory Support Building — 14 spaces have been converted to student permit parking
  • Area 44 — 11 metered spaces have been converted to faculty/staff permit parking

The changes add a total of 124 student permit spaces and 11 faculty/staff spaces. If you are unsure where the above areas are on campus please feel free to utilize our campus maps. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please contact Parking and Transportation at parking@umkc.edu.
