Give Thanks by Giving Back
Join the UMKC Staff Council Outreach Committee on Saturday, Nov. 23 as we partner with Della Lamb Community Services organization for Operation Thanksgiving.
Della Lamb offers programs designed to create self-sufficiency through education and support to low-income Kansas City people of all ages. Each year, Operation Thanksgiving strives to help feed more than 1,700 families Thanksgiving dinner in the Kansas City area by providing groceries, recipes and special holiday greetings. To assist in their efforts, each person is asked to bring one of the following items to donate: A 13 ounce box of instant mashed potatoes, stuffing with gravy mix, canned corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, chocolate cake mix with frosting mix and pie crust with apple pie filling.
Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov. 23 to help pre-bag groceries for Thanksgiving dinner and help stuff stockings as part of Operation Santa Clause.
Volunteers must be at least 6 years old. Sign-up is required at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/4090B4BA9AC2DAB9-give. For more information, please contact Sandra at email@example.com.
