Abstracts and registrations are due Monday, April 8, for the 19thAnnual Symposium of Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholarship. Students from across the university are urged to register so they can share their work with the wider community. Faculty mentors are encouraged to support their students as they prepare their abstracts and register for the symposium.
Presentations may take the form of posters, oral presentations, displays of art and artistic performances. “Presentations of Distinction” are awarded in five categories:
- Arts and Humanities
- Biological and Health Sciences
- Computing and Engineering
- Physical and Natural Sciences and Mathematics;
- Social and Behavioral Science
In addition to entering one of these disciplinary categories, students may also enter their work in KC Works, an interdisciplinary category featuring research and creative scholarship that is directly connected to the Kansas City region.
The symposium will be noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18 in Pierson Auditorium. The keynote speaker for the awards ceremony will be Steven St. John, 2019 Alumni Spotlight Honoree and renowned broadcaster for Sports Radio 810. The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m.
