The campus community is encouraged to wear denim Wednesday April 25, Denim Day UMKC, to protest the misconceptions surrounding sexual assault and harassment and to show support for survivors.
The UMKC Women’s Center will host a Denim Day Display and information tables on April 25 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. to educate the campus community on the Denim Day movement and sexual violence resources available.
Donate Your Old Jeans
In preparation for Denim Day, the Women’s Center encourages you to put your old jeans to good use by donating them to be a part of the denim display. Your donations will be used as canvasses for anti-sexual assault and anti-rape culture messages on Denim Day, April 25th.

Crafty Feminist Friday: Denim Decoration
Show your creativity and express your feelings on denim about rape and rape culture. Artwork will be included in the Denim Day Display on the Quad Wednesday, April 25.

Denim Day UMKC is a sexual violence prevention and education campaign, where community members, elected officials, survivors, students, faculty, and staff are asked to make a social statement with their fashion and protest against the myths surrounding sexual violence.
