Prior participants have said: “This is important. This is life-changing.” “It’s a very informative, interactive workshop fighting the stigma of mental illnesses by teaching people how to RESPOND.”
One in five people will experience a mental health problem this year. Most of us want to help yet often feel uncertain about what to do or say. Counseling Services will offer RESPOND: Partnering for Campus Mental Health training in Student Union, room 402 (lunch provided) on:
- Nov. 20
- Jan. 4
- March 27
- May 16
RESPOND will empower you to offer effective support to a student or colleague, and was designed specifically to meet the needs of faculty, staff and students in a university setting. The course provides a basic overview of symptoms often associated with mental health problems and teaches you an action plan to help you RESPOND effectively.
The training is free and open to faculty, staff and graduate assistants, and is supported by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the University of Missouri Board of Curators.
