Proposals for the UMKC Instructional Design Conference on July 26 are now being accepted. The deadline for online submission is June 25. Notifications of acceptance will be sent the following week.
Proposals should cover these areas: What’s new in your digital classroom; what makes your course stand out; are you a skilled eLearning instructor with knowledge to offer; or, are you new to eLearning with experiences to share.
The conference will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Town Center Room at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. The conference is open to all UMKC faculty and staff. They can register for free online.
Conference strands include teaching with Canvas, basic; teaching with Canvas, advanced; accessibility in online and on-campus courses; and teaching with technology. Proposals should be presented in three different formats.
Breakout: Each presentation will have a 50-minute time slot. These sessions are typically interactive “how-to” presentations. Please leave 10 minutes for questions at the end.
Accelerated: These sessions highlight 3 presenters who each have 15 minutes to present information and answer questions. Accelerated topics range from teaching ideas to research reports.
5 in 5: Present five slides in five minutes to highlight a problem you encountered and how you solved it.
